Default Can anyone substantiate report on US1549?

Not sure if anyone saw it on O'Reilly yesterday, but Geraldo had an AD from late December about possible compressor stall on A320 engines during takeoff. He also claimed to have proof that the same airplane had a compressor stall on one of its engines the day before, forcing an air return to LGA. Anyone heard anything else about this?

the faa needs to think about talking to some of these people who freely admit to calling, sending text messages and taking pictures with their cell phones on these two flights. we all know there is a blatant disregard for the rules by pax anyways but come on, what's next, there's some turbulence and everyone busts out the cellphones?

Geraldo on O'Reilly on Fox?

I'm almost speechless.

If only there was more rampant speculation on the internets by trained professionals - then people wouldn't have to turn to Geraldo for the "real info".

Now they are two real stand up guys in journalism:

Geraldo... still looking for Al Capone's treasure, and

O'Reilly, with his pants down to his anles, lurking the hallways of Fox trying to nail young interns and staffers.

Geraldo read a Airbus AD on engine stalling that came out in Dec 2008 and said he would follow up on it to see if there was a connection....outrageous !! LOL Get the facts before you bash and don't be a hater.

Geraldo really got exercised over this issue. He was saying, in a bombastic way, "There is a LOT more to this story and I am going to find it out..."

I was chuckling while watching. And hoping a wrestler would throw a chair at him and break his nose like in the 80's...now that was good entertainment.

Saw the interview between Geraldo Rivera, AKA Jerry Rubin, and Ron Neilson, a retired airline pilot. Jerry tried, relentlessly, to have Captain Neilson say the compressor stall incident on the flight from EWR was coincidental the accident from LGA versus the bird strike. Even after Neilson said the crew stated there was the odor of birds in the airplane, Jerry kept on fishing for something that just was not there.

Well Jerry, I’m sure you’ll be just as successful as you were in locating Al Capone’s secret stash. Journalism at its best.
