Maybe they are considering readjusting the schedules due to the possible acquisition of Air Jamaica???

That would be nice to hope for. My miserable pessimistic side says they're going to turn this into some whipsaw ****show.

"Please be advised that due to this overpayment, a deduction will be made over the next five (5) pay periods, beginning on August 15th, 2009, each payment will be for the amount of $$$.

"If you have any questions regarding this overpayment, you may contact the Crew Payroll department via e-mail: crewpay@xxx.com, telephone: (877)xxx-xxxx ext. 8071 or by fax (800)xxx-xxxx.

"Thank you for your patience and assistance.

"Sincerely,

Crew Payroll Manager"

Would you work for a company who would to this to an employee who was laid off (unemployeed) only several months ago? I confirmed this with others in my class, they all received the same letter.

So let me guess... when/if I get called back it will be at 1st year pay then? Correct? That sucks! Sorry to hear that. For all of us.

Gray language in the contract guys. I never thought that it would hold up. The only way that this can be fought is based on how they treated previous furloughs. All previous furloughs still gained longevity.

But trying to fight an area of gray language based on previous actions didn't work out to well for the door closure vs wheels rolling issue. Gray language is a dangerous thing in our contract and frankly a CRAP TON of our contract is gray.

Maybe it's not gray language, but while it doesn't say we do gain longeviety, it also doesn't say we don't.

That's the company's reaction to ALPA's "Furlough Arbitration". We will probably win it based on the company's ridiculous argument, but it will be the Arbitrator's decision when it comes to damages that we must wait to see. Hopefully it will be 72 hours guarantee minus monies paid for 09/01-09/04 worked, and not just cease and desist.
I would love to shove it up theirs that way...

The company can care less. They do not give a damn about you or any other employee. Spirit Execs, backed by Mr. Franke's and Bonderman's Indigo, are huge employee and union busters. A bunch of indecent lying labor exploiting rats.
If they had it their way, they would pay you minimum wage to fly an Airbus and have a pay-for-training pilot as the F/O. Wait...doesn't Gulfstream already do that?
At least we got the 98% vote... now we just need to act on it.
