No reason we shouldn't be the highest paid A320 pilots. We are worth it!

I think we all would like to see the bar raised across the board. Unfortunately in the past this industry has been a race to the bottom. Hopefully we see better times ahead!

I think you missed what Juice was saying....the pipe down on the lecture rhetoric goes both ways. To think a new guy at Spirit is new to the industry is ridiculous. I know few 'new guys' that would be willing to cave on QOL issues for petty improvements. We've all been there, done that at many other gigs. If a new guy is the right guy, why shouldn't they be part of the negotiating team? Because they haven't earned it here at Spirit??? Please spare me the drama.....we need the right people in the right positions, regardless of their SPA longevity (probation aside).

Put me in the no concession camp as well. There is absolutely ZERO reason for us to give on anything. We're über-profitable....to settle for less than an industry leading package is absurd. That said, we don't want to kill the goose, just choke it into give us what we deserve. After all, we're a huge part of the equation on why the goose is nice and fat.

I now get to say that I made a sitting US Senator laugh very, very hard.

There are a few guys that definitely think if you haven't been divorced twice, at your sixth airline, flown the convair or 727, have a Latin girlfriend, and been at spirit at least 7 years, then you haven't paid enough dues and will give away anything. The clear 7 year payscale line proves the opposite.

I disagree. I think some time on property is a good thing for members of the negotiating committee. They need to understand our management and the bargaining history of our contract. If we have someone who is newish but was an experienced major or legacy airline contract negotiator, then fine. I don't think we do however.

And believe me, those guys aren't on our negotiating committee either. We have a good group in there. No need to upset the apple cart.

Improvements to the current contract?, absolutely! But zero concessions , zero. And I speak for myself, after the 08, 09 and 10 plus the previous years in negotiations and the strike, I will not give up anything. I've flown with and talked to a few pilots here and there that just got here and are already willing to give into pref bidding for better 1st year pay or even a JB plus 5 bucks across the board.

This contract we have, is a good contract, any stupid change in QoL for money it's gonna turn us into an airbus regional (even though it looks like that with the schedules sometimes), but I enjoy my line with plenty of time off.

I wish the negotiations committee goes in with the same attitude or better than before.

And if they have any new blood (post strike) joining the team I hope they have a clue on what went thru to get here, any ideas like (JB, UA,RAH, AE, Pinnacle, AA, VX), (or whatever they are call these days ) like pref bidding, more pay for days off, transition language with days off in the middle, cool uniforms and fancy tablets for my days off or my current pay, any craapp like that, they should be beat with a lead pipe.

No concessions, only improvement on scope, merger, premium pay, AC types, pension, profit sharing, etc.... fine, then I agree with you.

Why don't you volunteer for the job? Seems like you have it figured out where we should be, step on up. It's easy to tell union VOLUNTEERS to "FUPM, get Daddy his money or you get the pipe," it's another thing to step up and volunteer to do it and be willing to take that "pipe beating" that you mentioned for anyone volunteering, especially those who were hired after a pre set date you mentioned.

Not trying to get into it with you on what you and the other Spirit pilots had to deal with before with Spirit. Trust me, the "new blood" pilots at Spirit understand, based on what every captain tells us daily, and we all hugely respect the stand the pilot group took in walking. That does take a huge sack, no doubting that. You all earned that star on your ALPA pins.

But as a new guy at the airline, it's offensive to suggest that any of us are so stupid or naive to be solely focused on trivial things like "uniforms and tablets" instead of improving or pay, work rules, and overall QOL. We all came here to hopefully make this a strong major that can be a career for us all. Nobody is looking to sell anyone out, especially for "cool uniforms"
Juice, you obviously got me all wrong, I am a strong supporter of our union, specially what they did for us during contract negotiations, I don't step up because there are people that can do a MUCH better job than I could ever do.

I don't have it ALL figured, I just know NOT to give ANYTHING that we as a pilot group earn as a result of hard negotiations, my union has my support.

I just don't welcome new ideas of concession for anything.
