I just don't welcome new ideas of concession for anything.
Sounds good, I agree 100% with what you just said. And you're right, we are not a struggling major or a regional getting whipsawed by a legacy carrier, there should be ZERO kinds of concessions in any new CBA.

I obviously misunderstood your tone of the last post. Apologies if I did.

Peace and Love, Peace and Love.

All good Juice, the only way to achieve greatness will be all as one, well informed and unity.

From what I have read and heard in the cockpit, you are in the minority with this opinion.

That being said, I will filter out as much white-noise as I can and make my own opinions.

Have you ever spoken to members of the negotiating committee? They are intelligent, forward thinking individuals. They have been at this a long time at multiple 121 carriers.

I'm in the majority. Without a doubt. There is a very vocal minority centered in FLL. But don't worry, with the composition of the MEC, that vocal minority will be marginalized.

If you give something up in a contract, you will most likely never see it again. Nearly impossible to get back without offering more concessions. Case and point, 150% pay for overtime.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Since when is marginalizing a group intelligent and forward thinking. Get off your computer for an hour sometime..

When they talk about accepting PBS and giving up the 4 days off in exchange for a premium pay bonanza, that's when they should be marginalized. And they already are marginalized, so I'm not losing sleep over it.

You should know certain parts of the contract are sacrosanct. Those who propose threatening many of our QOL provisions for their own selfish greed will get pushback. The majority of us just do our jobs and enjoy our lives while tuning out that vocal minority.

Gee let me guess they were your first year FOs? First year pay sucks, $38.50/hr. I know you say you will give up zero but in your last round first year pay was given up and brought down to 38.50. It's not just Spirit, but this industry-wide stigma that first year pay is sacrifice-able or lowerable to gain on the middle/upper end of the seniority list. Yes we are all on first year pay at some point but to reason it that it's only a one year pain is ridiculous. We all have families/wives/kids to support and lowering first year pay doesn't help. It's nice that JetBlue/VX/United/Delta have raised first year pay to a more acceptable level. But 38.50/hr and 40/hr at AA is just not right.

So yes, I'm not surprised you have flown with pilots who would give up PBS to get more pay, especially the junior guys.

That was given up, but would you really consider that a concession in the totality of contract 2010? Aren't far more people making more money now than under the previous contract? The pie was just divided differently, however overall contract 2010 was a bigger pie than the last one.

I see what you are saying now and I agree somewhat. However just tuning out a vocal minority is not enough. We must counter their arguments and make them defend their positions. If you are talking about PBS or giving up four days off then yes, marginalize because that will never happen here.
