Let's hope so, because right now I feel like I'm hanging off a cliff. One hand has slipped off, & a fat man has his foot raised ready to stomp on my fingers so I can't hang on any longer.

Ahhh, Super. You mean dropping of the seniority list, right? You have to choose your words more carefully for the sensitive types.

I know how you feel. I'm usually an optimistic person, but my optimism is starting to wane. Planning for the worst, but it's kind of hard to plan with lack of opportunities(flying or not) in this economy.

Reading APC seems to put me on a roller coaster of opinions as to what will happen. Maybe I should just stop, but there is good info. I keep reading to see differing thoughts as well as not being blindsided if anything bad happens. I've been "F'd" once and do not want it again. Last time I was blindsided(as was everyone else) but fell back on a Mortgage job, doubt that will be available this time around if it happens.

In the mean time, I'll just enjoy life.

If you are close to, or over 60...PRIP out, leave the grind to us younger guys.

Last I heard on Wednesday, 08 July the PRIP count was 131. 124 DAL-N, 7 DAL-S. Latest estimate is that ~200 will PRIP by the 15th. Remember that they can retract their paperwork up until 31 July.

Kind of wondering why they would have a big AE/displacement coming out on the 15th before they have a final tally on PRIP.

I also heard that the 767/757 will be transitioning to all crews international qualified like old NW. Got that one from a Chief Pilot.

Quite confusing last few pages with a lot of mixed messages! So, is the 'good news' still on track for the 15th or should we abandom all hope for the near future??

Good news is on track. We are talking long term here

Displacement first week of Aug. ~ 90-100 positions. 40 A and 50 or so B. PIRP may lessen the blow. We shall see.

Thank you...we can all use some hope. Looking at my fellow aviators at CAL, AK, UAL, US etc, I am still very greatful I am at DAL.

Kind of answered your own question ref a S displacement when looking at the PRIP demographics.

As discussed earlier the combined category will eventually require more than the 2 separate ones now due to higher Intl staffing formulas.

I do not see them adding any one the South ER category. They will wait to get the NWA guys on after SOC and see how the staffing looks.

Remember that getting rid of the 767 domestic category will eliminate a lot of overnights all over the system. Take for example NYC where the ER up there will be able to fly all of the domestic flying. Currently it takes a small army staying that the NYC hotels to do that on an day in and day out basis. A combine category will eliminate a lot of that.
It may in face be zero sum when dealing with staffing. It also offers a huge amount of flexability to how the schedule and reroute crews.
