I concur.
Unless you enjoy trips through password purgatory, never look at your delta.com e-mail and do not load any pubs on your I-pad through Delta's system.

Speaking of which....is it necessary to put your password in every time you close out to your homepage?

You'd think it have a timeout feature after 10 minutes or so that required you to input your password, but not every time you press the home button.

This used to be the case but this last time (2 days ago) I was getting a countdown in Icrew that I couldn't ignore etc. They're now forcing this on us. Uncle Ferd recommended a solution a long time ago that seems to work.

Use a number heavy password and change the letter at the end. A, B, C etc. Has worked like a champ and you're never more than one letter off.

Good luck.

Also if you have had a number password for a while and now have a new one with the new rules, to make things much easier when calling Dal Crew on your phone, set up a PIN! You won't have to remember the number coincidental to letters for punching it in on your phone.

That's what happened to me... same password the last 5.5 years and it gave me a countdown requiring me to change it. BLARGH!

I've been wondering if there is a way to outsmart the Borg, I wonder if it remembers previous passwords? Can I use 4, and cycle through them every 90 days? Perhaps use change-over month at the front, some numbers, then A, B, C, D, whatever, at the back, and just keep cycling them...or will it know if one has been used before, even if it was more than 4 cycles ago?

When I asked the gal on the phone who walked me through it, I asked if I could use 2, and just flip-flop them, she said,"No, it has to be a new one each time."

Then I told her I would probably not be showing up for my trips after about 180 days, because I won't be able to access iCrew to view my line, because there's NO WAY I'll remember my 'new' passwords if I have to change them every 90 days!

She said, "Well, company policy is you MUST change it, every 90 days."

It's amazing to me we've managed to survive this long, without that 'improvment' to security. This policy was obviously written by someone who's never been out of their cubicle, and knows they have to show up at 8, every Monday...unless it's a holiday of course.

I'm sure any MD88 F/O worth his intermittant auto-spoilers will find another 'workaround' before too long, but for now, it's a huge pita!

Hopefully, the company won't hire post-AF password police. They must have had a cadre of 400 whose only job was to come up with passwords that were NOT viable password candidates. In fact, I know they won't institute that kind of password think--it would result in too many wasted FA hours and a need for hiring in the tech department to handle all the calls from people who forgot their nonsensical p/w. Change one character from your last password? No, that won't make the cut. Go with a pattern on your keyboard? NO PASSWORD FOR YOU! After that forced password training experience I can't complain at how easy it is to comply with what DAL has put in place.

I commute so would have to sit in a hotel or crashpad. Still not really difficult to hit answer on my cell if it rings. Contractually you are not on duty until you report at the airport for the trip. FAR's also don't have you on duty until that point. Whitlow is a rest based look back that requires 8 hours of rest in any 24 hour period. Its not considered duty.
I believe that according to the FAA, if you are on call, you are not at rest.

True. Then again, W., who started as more of a conservitive than Romney, ran as a fiscal conservative, no nation building, humble foreign policy and downsizing the government and what we got was the biggest expansion and debt load by anyone (until this guy). And now this guy's supposed opposite is a neo con half lib from as left wing a state as you can find.

Congress is 10 times more crucial in this election than the White House is.
