Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Its time to revisit this... Let's see...Ma Ma' is the 747...great ride when she was younger but now its time for her to go... Lurch...777, maybe? Big and under appreciated....Cousin It would be a great 320...but alas, he's not here...Uncle Fester...Definitely a Mad Dog...squirrely and out of control...thoughts?
All that stuff is cool and should be explored, but to eliminate our dependance on foreign oil is so much simpler. Just drill baby, drill. We are already the worlds #1 producer of Natural Gas and could be the #1 producer of petroleum. We have more proven reserves than the ME, we just aren't allowed to go get it or transport it to refineries.

Drill baby drill? We are #1 of oil producing countries. Oil has been our primary source of energy for the last 100 years. Just like every thing else new technology will leave oil in our history books.

Don't have time to go back and find the discussion but those that were talking advances in aviation technology....Elon Musk says we are nearing the battery technology for electric transcon flights. Whether you agree with him or not, he's definitely an interesting, out the box thinking guy.
Time stamp 38:30 is where he mentions electric flight. The whole interview is interesting if you have time.

He should know, with his experience in battery technology. What I find interesting about the guy is his ominous view of artificial intelligence. He thinks we may be literally conjuring a demon. He owns stock in several AI companies in order to keep an eye on them. Of course the most advanced stuff is probably at JPL, behind a few blast doors.

Guys,
This is a very interesting subject. A few weeks back someone posted a link to a "Seven Sisters" documentary. I viewed all 4. They were very thought provoking and pretty accurate with all they presented but they left out a lot, an awfully lot, that did not mesh with their point of view.
If you really want to be knowledgeable about oil and its history this is a must read:
The Prize: The Epic Quest for Oil, Money & Power by Daniel Yergin | 9781439110126 | Paperback | Barnes & Noble
The only way to describe this book is awesome. It is not ideological but more historical/academic which I really liked. It is basically a world history of energy/politics from the 1850's and although very long and detailed you will not want to put it down. A very enjoyable read.
If you want to be knowledgeable about oil/energy this is a great place to start.
