Previous to C2012 we got 15 percent below 2.5 billion and 20 percent above 2.5 billon. Now it is 10 percent below 2.5 billion and the same 20 percent above. So we monetized one third of the 15 percent. That 5 percent equates to a maximum payout of about $42 million for the pilots which in turn equates to a 2 percent increase in pay. We received that 2 percent as part of the 8 percent increase we received a couple years ago.

It does make a difference if you have 4 grand a month coming from a government retirement check and might still be getting active duty pay from terminal leave. As far as borrowing from the bank he will easily be able to pay it back while still in his first year if he chooses. He is buying himself almost two days at home with his family.

You have got to be kidding me! You blasted HK on the old forum and what they negotiated on a almost hourly basis.

Not only that Denny but that Two percent has had a couple of compounding raises since. The 125 million reduction in the total pool money (42 for the pilots only is about right) becomes a smaller percentage of pay as more pilots are hired.

Something is wrong. Look carefully at your time card.

Using 2% of the 8.5% of the C2012 increase, IMHO we got 10.84% on the amendable date, NOT 12.84%. (IMO, C2012 should have had a 10.84,3,3 slogan, not a 4,8,3,3 or 12.84, 3, 3 but I digress)

The 2% was moved (not conceeded), smartly, to the pay tables on Jan. 1 2013 in exchange for our share of the 5% below $2.5B PITX (about 1/3 of $125m), or roughly $42m at the time.

Using today's numbers, as of Jan. 1 2016, if we were to move another 5% of the below 2.5B PTIX to the pay tables, it would only be worth about 1.8%.

I personally would have been willing to trade the other 10% for 4% more on the pay tables in 2012

Today we could only exchange it for 3.6% more.

When we get C2015, it will be worth even less!

4%>3.6%>X.X%

I would not be in favor of trading the 20% of 2.5B to infinity because it is an unlimited number, there is no limit to the earning potential.

Time card says the same thing. ALV and greenslip trigger 75, credit applicable 70. Add up my credit on the individual trips, 70. I'll call.

My guess would be that you had two pretty strong personalities on the committee that didn't necessarily agree on strategy.

Not the best advice for a first year pilot. If you go negative into your bank on first year pay you have to make it up when you could be making second year pay. The difference between first and second year pay is so big it is a terrible investment to use your bank in the first year.

On the other hand, if you can bank some time your first year you can get it back at second year pay. It is a guaranteed 30-40% ROI in less than 12 months. There isn't a better investment out there. Same principle applies if you are upgrading to captain.
