Funny, I just was thinking that same thing earlier today. But at least I got to hear the crew's experience level as military aviators. Made me feel safe, as I was sweating my nads off. I guess it's alright though. No one ever drowned in sweat.

Ya gotta attach the keyboard and use the mouse thingy pad. I have no advice on how to get it to recognize the keyboard

So they didn't deviate to avoid the WX because ATC wouldn't give them permission? They instead went into a storm?

Believe me, most of us are trying.

I'm discovering a lot of the external "conditioned air"...isn't, many of the packs don't work well on the ground, and many of the gasper booster fans...don't.

The grumpy puppy doesn't seem much better than the Maddog on the ground as far as cooling goes.

I've yet to get that to work on the surface. Usually end up using my I phone.

I struggled when using the actual touch screen. As someone else posted, if you attach the keyboard the mousepad will work. Typical Surface 2 silliness.

Can't say I blame them. Here in the states that would be stupid but over China they might throw an S-2 your way if you **** them off.

Anything 'off airway' in China is owned by the People's Army. Deviating is rarely approved. That said, they should have declared an emergency and turned anyway. That could have easily ended a lot worse.

Ask KAL007 what can happen when you bust the communists airspace! In those countries, they can shoot first and investigate later.
