Wasn't the sea foam at the Jersey Shore?

Snooki related? I think so.

Just flew a trip with a mid sen capt 737; and had a 767 400 capt guy on js. Neither was intrested in scope recapture. At best it was a hold the line behind pay. One was willing to settle for 12 %, and the other I got the opinion would settle for 15-18 %. Neither has the stomach for a strike......

Disgusting.

You think that's disgusting? I flew with a 59 year old captain who point blank told me he could care less about scope - all he wanted was pay. He even went on to say that all the old guys don't care about scope they want higher pay. He said he'd be willing to relax scope to achieve higher pay rates. I told him I was glad their aren't a whole lot of old guys.

Oh they're out there. I wish the survey would be published. Or at least tell us #1 and #2 and #3 priority results. That way we know if the TA put out in 2015* is actually what the pilot group wants. If I saw the survey and 63% said scope relief to 99 seats is fine then you can't really be angry at the union when the TA has such scope relief language for a small pay raise of 5% yoy.

However, we should if such a TA comes out invite Luvjockey and any SWA... or better yet AirTran... pilots to the crewroom to point and laugh. Even encourage it over the radio. Maybe even pass yourself off as SWA and say something to the airplane going by. Ridicule at that point might be the only option left.
----

But bluejuice, any chance your particular cockpit mate was just trying to be an (expletive)? Kind of like when you fly with someone that has to get the final word in (like a Canadian ATC controller) or just takes the opposite view of whatever you say no matter how insignificant the topic.

Next time remember to mention that you want to push for the age 60 rule in the contract and when you're coming into the airport and assigned 250, put 251 or 249 in the speed window.
---
*I say 2015, to rant about the RLA process. It has nothing to do with whether we vote in the DPA and things are delayed or delayed to 2015 because we didn't vote out ALPA.

New mantra: scope or strike.

btw, I've flown with guys who prefer long overnights (for beer drinking with people you've never met) and to preserve that would vote down a SWA style contract of more days off and significantly higher pay. One of the quips about the SWA contract "I don't want to work that hard." um... does SWA do 14 leg 4-days? Because your airplane does.

Maybe they do but right now I doubt it.

Make sure to get visitation rights ironed out in the prenup in case things go Tango Uniform (pun intended).
