I don't know, but would not want our pilots to have to play that game regardless. If we flow down we bump everyone out of their Captains seats, including check airman and instructors eventually. You don't think there might be some sour grapes and axes to grind with them losing their jobs? It's happen before in mergers in the training department. Also it gives CPS management extreme leverage against DAL pilots who might be more vocal about union activities and contract compliance. I'm not worried about the professionalism of our pilots, but that of the PO'd bounced CPS pilots and management. Why go there if you don't have to.
Again a real good reason to have the CPS pilots continue to have the representational horsepower of our MEC. Getting rid of that onerous little bit might be a future contract enhancement....
I see....
It's a catch-22. I think the flow-thru with Compass may mitigate some furloughs because of the overall expense. It would have been nice when I was furloughed from Delta in June '02 to have had this option available. I do understand that some of the Compass pilots would be bent out of shape, but I believe that many of them see a bigger picture. Face it, this industry can be painful for all of us at times..
The Compass guys I've spoken with like the fact that we have a flow-thru. They understand the positives and negatives of this agreement. The Captains and FO's I've spoken with want to keep their representation under our MEC. They also have told me that they would like to be on our list, even if it meant a furlough. Those are not my words, but those of the 4 Compass pilots that I have spoken with face-to-face, so please don't shoot the messenger.
I see this agreement as a major plus for our pilot group and shows that the fNWA pilots have the big picture and are attempting to hold firm on SCOPE. I'm glad to have a little extra backbone in our pilot group.

Something to remember is that CPS was created from the beginning with the NW flow in place. If I'm not mistaken, it was part of the agreement with the NW pilots that allowed CPS to exists. So, its not like this flow agreement was forced on the CPS pilots after the fact. As I understand it, the majority of the CPS pilots accept both the pros and cons that come with it. I wouldn't expect CPS pilots to be happy about being displaced by furloughed DL pilots, but I wouldn't expect bitterness or retaliation either.
Delta Air Lines Inc. says the H1N1 virus will have a $250 million impact on its earnings this year, the Associated Press reports.
Delta CEO Richard Anderson, speaking at the company’s annual shareholder meeting in New York on Monday, said H1N1 — the flu’s official name though it’s still commonly referred to as swine flu, has reduced travel to Mexico and Latin America, according to the AP.
Earlier this month, Atlanta-based Delta announced it was cutting its systemwide capacity by 10 percent — more than the 6 percent to 8 percent it originally planned — due to declining passenger revenue, caused in part by H1N1. At that time, the company said it expected the disease to reduce its second-quarter earnings by $125 million to $150 million.
A regional buying 2 major carriers in the same week!!! I bet this is the beginning of the next Indy Air. They are biting the hands that feed them with UAL, CAL, DAL, and USAIR by becoming a direct competitor. (Popcorn popping in the background)

RA papering the legal file for Force Majuere. You have a no furlough clause? Bwahaha! Bwahaha!

NWA was always ruthless in defending it's hubs. We now have RAH soon to be in MKE and DEN paying substandard outsourced wages.
Find a way to get rid of Republic!! Surely, our lawyers can find some loopholes...they always do!
I think they most likely will. Now they are a direct competitor, & I don't think RA will like that.
I don't think this will bode well for RAH. It's clear that BB is certain that UAL will be filing BK, & I think he's worried about other RAH flying. He is scrambling for other sources of income.
If UAL files BK it will be bad for RAH, but worse for SkyWest.
