Anyone, besides me get an e-mail from DELTA stating irregularities with employment/flight time on their app? Or am I the only dummy that got this message or something concerning their app? I heard that u go under the microscope before being called. Thanx

Polly-

Got that very same e-mail about two weeks ago stating that I had a period of unemployment on my application that was otherwise unaccounted for. When I checked, there was a 30 day gap in employment showing due to military change of station orders. I adjusted my dates accordingly to close the gap and updated.

Got an e-mail invitation to interview less than a week after I "fixed" it.

Codguy and Polly...& everyone,
The HR folks go over your application in detail with you, at least mine did. In fact my HR dude had questions and notes already written on paper. Make sure it is as perfect as you can make it; Proofread over and over. I made corrections/changes right up until the "two day limit" before the interview. The first fifteen minutes of my interview was spent going over my application line by line. Planning ahead, I had several of my own copies, including the one they tell you to bring. My HR dude had printed his own copy. So I pulled out my own copy of the app to follow along with his line of questions. Just made it easier than trying to read upside down. For example, I had about a dozen addresses. He asked me to explain every one and why I moved so much. I gave him a run down "why I moved there" and then "why I moved from there". Most of the moves were Military training (UPT, CIQ, ACQ). Once he heard that, he was happy and we moved on to the next page.

FWIW, I had a retired airline pilot give me some perspective on the app: If you have to make changes on it at the interview, they think you're hiding something or lying. If you have mistakes like spelling, then you don't care about the job.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!!!

Guard Dude,

With this in mind, I've done this to the app, but I've noticed little mistakes on 3 of the 5 recs I have on file. Do you have any idea how this is perceived by Delta? I'm assuming there is nothing I can do about that. Great recs otherwise.

In airlineapps.com did yall include every base you were ever stationed at (i.e. training) or just the ones your were permently assigned to in the Employment History?

I'll be interested in this question as well. I put my entire time in the Navy under present employer and didn't break it up based on duty station. I used my SF86 form and added all my previous employment prior to my military history in the work history section. What do you guys think? Break it up by duty station...or does it matter?

Polly,

How long after you get the call do you have before you go in for the interview? I'm assuming all interviews are done in ATL. Anybody know of anything different?

I got the call yesterday, and I am interviewing 24MAY-25MAY, you have a choice even into JUNE. They are not interviewing Memorial Day week. jetBlue called today while all my kids were screaming I set up for June 8. When it rains it pours. And yes mine is in ATL.
