I'm surprised nobody on here has commented on the line from this week's 'right from Richard' message on Deltanet. He stated that he's committed to giving "industry standard" wages for all front line employees in 2012.

That doesn't give me any warm feelings on a significantly improved contract.

FAIL. UT is in fact... in Knoxville.

While completely and utterly inadequate (and insulting to boot), in all fairness, it would be better than what ALPA has delivered for us so far.

I assume RA wants a better than "industry standard" airline. If he's only willing to pay "industry standard" wages (whatever those are), why should he expect to get better than industry standard performance? Average pay = average airline. Nothing more.

Once again, since I cannot work this new-fangled intertube machine I do not know how to post that picture of what looks like George Clooney eating popcorn. I can hardly wait for the fallout from those rules when announced in 2015

I don't think that applies to pilots. He's speaking of a raise all frontline employees will receive in July, & that doesn't include pilots.

Is that sort of like how U.S.C. is in Columbia, South Carolina?

Anyone know how far below the frontline employees and management are below their 2004 (pre-paycut) pay? We are 32% below ours (not counting inflation).

I seriously doubt any of the other employees are anywhere near 32% below where they were in 2004... probably not even more than a single digit percentage below. And I'm guessing management is actually quite a bit ABOVE their 2004 compensation.

Anybody have the stats on this?

and you think that because.....?
do you know something the rest of us don't? Did you talk to RA and ask him about it?

why would you feel the need to say that if you don't know for sure what he was talking about?

And on another note (totally off the subject), I thought this was pretty funny:
