The generic ALPA formula considers aircraft seating capacity, gross weight, range, and speed in the productivity equation. That's why ALPA contracts pay to equipment and the long haul heavy aircraft have higher pay rates.
Contrast that to UPS which pays to seniority, and you see [many] old guys opting to fly in one or two time zones (the way it should be!).

I have no doubt that a CAL 73 pilot can generate more revenue on a 4-day trip than a 777 guy during the same period. If you compare the two on revenue per block hour flown, I bet you'd see the 777 take a strong lead.

If you have flown any other Boeing like the 757, 767, or 777 you'd understand what I mean. I've flown the 737 series from the right and left seats and it is "Crappy" in many ways compared to more modern airliners. No, the NG's are not modern enough. You can put glass in anything.

I've always found this funny. Pilots don't "generate" revenue. Pilots fly the plane from point A to point B and get paid whatever their MEC/NC can get for them. And as was mentioned, it's based on various factors.
Marketing and a whole bunch of other suit types generate revenue.
I'm working on a school project where I need to determine how pilots of the Boeing 777 feel about the design, flyability and overall likeableness of the B777. If you fly the 777, if you could make a post on a few short thoughts about the plane, it would be appreciated.
Rightstuff,
PM me with your contact info. I will try to help you out.
I work for Boeing as an instructor on the B777/787.
