Default randy babbitt to run the FAA

Just curious to know what everyone thinks of Mr. babbitt running the FAA. Do you think he will do a good job for the USA or just for himself. Will he now be able to collect a government pension out of tax dollars to augment his ALPA pension funded with dues dollars?

I wonder if Babbitt used "TurboDues" to pay his ALPA dues back in the day before being considered as FAA Administrator? After all, Obama named Tim Geithner head of the US Treasury and he didn't even have to pay taxes!!!

The precedent has been set!

When J. Randolph Babbit was ALPA prez he was no longer an active airline pilot. Kudos to him for striking at Eastern. But, after so many years of leading (?) ALPA the rank and file grew weary of his rhetoric. Then as a self proclaimed industry consultant he would surface occasionally along wiith all the other talking heads on aviation issues to his finacial gain.

He's lost a lot of respect withhin the ALPA ranks and it is doubtful many brotheren are enthralled with this appointment.

I can't back him.

looks like the DOT is going to push hard for open-skies with Europe. It will be interesting to see if babbitt will push it as well.
