I would love to see DAL compete, but I hear from the old timers that we won't. I hope RA is up for the challenege.

DAL must keep a strong domestic presence. Otherwise, it dies like PanAm.

Sorry for the doublepost.

Any truth to the rumor that SWA was trying to score more LGA slots?

I heard about the LGA slots as well from an SWA pilot.

This NWA/Delta vs SWA sounds pretty interesting. Lets see how the showdown will go.

RA was up for the challenge before and kicked *ss, it also depends on how much DL values MSP...if they continue to put all of the efforts into extremely capacity constraint airports...they will get worse, and MSP will wither and die.

Pan Am died because they got into a bidding war with Lorenzo with the purchase of NAL and overpaid, Pan Am died because they had old equipment and believed their own invincabilty and were arrogant. Pan Am died because they had the wrong people in critical positions, eg former pilot as CEO, Pan Am died because they dismantled the domestic system they bought from NAL. Pan Am was pushed over the edge by high interest rates and the bombing of Flight 103. Pan Am did not die because of the employees or unions.

The way they run the place now I wouldn't be surprised to see it.

Southwest now offering service from Chicago to Tokyo.

Flt 1 departs daily from Chicago at 10am with a stop in Minneapolis

WN 1 MDW-MSP-NRT*

Flt 2 departs Tokyo daily at 5pm with a stop in Minneapolis

WN 2 NRT-MSP-MDW*

*MSP-NRT-MSP service operated by Delta Airlines
