When did BB say that? Is it possible that is just a rumor at Republic?
I just don't see how it could be cheaper to operate 190's instead of airbuses when all the airbuses are full ALL THE TIME in the markets Frontier currently serves. Cost per seat goes down as the size of the plane goes up. The only reason everyone isn't flying 747's around is because they can't fill them. Frontier is filling their planes and trying to trade the 319's and especially the 318's for 320's.
The rumor that we see good in caving on scope is false. I am not sure how the negotiations will come out, but I think all the pilots at Frontier know the importance of scope.
Flex,
I wasn't speaking to you directly with my comment of not looking down on us, it was a generalization to those that do.
As for Bedford saying that, it has been stated many times in his "weekly" sermons and I believe most recently on the Town Hall Podcast. Not 100% sure on the Podcast but he has stated F9 being more profitable if half of the Airbuses went away and 190's were placed on those routes. Why do you think he wants unlimited scope and wants nothing to do with an integration? Any issue with training costs can simply be taken care of with a fence for X years.
It's good to see you guys are not seriously thinking about caving on scope. Lets just hope it survives the bankruptcy proceedings.
You guys need to force the integration issue as we will be doing the same (And not for the fact of bigger airplanes)
My unofficial designation of a major is an airline where you can support an entire family on your airline salary alone as a first officer. This includes owning a house, two cars, and the basics of the American dream. You could do that at Midwest and Frontier. You cannot do that at Republic.
I agree. Republic is a regional because the whole pay scale is based on pilots moving from FO to Capt to another carrier. I mean, that is why the Republic MEC negotated FO pay at $37... no increase unless you upgrade.
Don't doubt it. But you mis read what I was saying. So try not to get your panties in a bunch. Go back an re read what I wrote. When you got hired, the competitive time was probably pretty high. I was saying that just like ANY other airline that doesn't/didn't have a turbine PIC requirement, they have pilots there that never had any.
If you were to go through the ENTIRE seniority list, you'd find people that are well qualified, and people as I've outlined above.
My private-comm instructor is a CA there, his first type rating/turbine PIC was on the 737. As an example.

LOL, was alot of that going around. Didn't CAL stop handing out the types on the 73 because of that, or did they can SWA and ask them to stop taking thier pilots?

I am pretty sure that FAPA is asking for no reductions in airbuses and that only Frontier pilots fly them. If BB refuses those conditions then his intentions are very clear. I agree that integration with a fence is the best option among a bunch of crappy ones. Some people would get screwed no doubt, but at least all of us wouldn't. The problem is BB won't let it happen.
US designation for a major is: an air carrier with an annual operating revenue of more than... ONE, BILLION, DOLLARS, MUHAHAHA! (with pinky finger at mouth).
I beleive RAH is hovering around 1.3B pre merger...
RAH is not an airline... it is a holding company only. It's holdings include several seperate airlines, none of which does over the 1B itself.... until they bought Midwest & Frontier

Good point. I didn't think about that, but hey, thats the kind of brainpower you get for $25k a year
