Thanks Oscar - managing my own life just fine, thanks for the concern.

Just don't make pilots like they used to.

Nothing builds unity like criticizing your fellow SWA pilots on an industry board. Is that the type of guy we hired 20 years ago?

FWIW - I knew someone would chime in based on my reply to Gomer. L J, basically I will choose not to unify with those that I disagree with or have different goals. Some of my fellow pilots at the LUV airline are different than me and certainly don't share my opinions on the "issues." I am more in line with what is best for SWA and ALL the employees. Too many friends and co-workers that aren't pilots for me to be concerned about. As far as I am concerned it is not the same airline it was and based on my observations the future union leadership leads me to believe we are headed towards the same mistakes other airlines made. It is just my opinion on where we are headed and we all know that saying about opinions.

Now hopefully back to something that resembles this old thread topic.

I did not intend to divert the thread, I was curious though and appreciate your response.

Gomer,

Not a problem at all. I think a reality check for all the folks at the LUV airline may be in order. When and if the airlines start hiring again I would like for all prospects to have info (good and bad) to help with their evaluation of where they would like to be employed. The expectations that some had when they came to SWA are not being fulfilled and there are some who are becoming bitter. That could make for a different work environment in the future. How many places can say that things are the same as they were 20 years ago? Every work place evolves eventually.

Interesting insight regarding how some SWA pilots treat "dissenters." It seemed like an introspective and respectful plea for the SWA guys to unite and act in everybody's interests, and a strong response arrives - "back in line, moron." Too bad. I, too, have always had a different view of SWA folks until recent years. A damn shame.

It seems SWA peeps seem to think their "culture" and issues are unique. I'm here to say neither your culture nor your unification and morale issues are unique. Good luck to us all, and I sincerely hope that we can all survive these tough times and be profitable without stomping on our brothers to "get ahead."

Jetalc, I don't understand what you're saying - care to elaborate?
