Smile WN wishing F9 the best of luck.

As a SW pilot I would first like to wish the F9 family ths best of luck and I mean that with all sincerity and would encourage all the other SW posters to do the same. I would like to apologize for the tone of myself and my colleagues recent post over the last week. I think you saw us that work for SW get a little territorial about our jobs here at SW. We pay a fairly substantial price to be here ie. 7k type rating and the thought of giving up seniority was not a pill we were willing to swallow. Thankfully our CEO and the courts did not force it down our throats. Unlike most airline management, Gary Kelly did make the right decision to let the labor groups try to hammer out an agreement before preceding with the deal. It once again shows SW loyalty to there employees. However, the time frame was too short. Unfortunately, once again we have seen the tumultuous nature that comes with airlines blending employee groups. I would have loved to have worked with all the F9'ers but the judge has spoken. I hope everything works out for all. God bless.

Now, in the truck Clyde!

Likewise - you're always welcome over here on my jumpseat (unless your Southwest ID says "Luv Jockey"). Both SWAPA and FAPA were looking out for the interests of their pilots. I talked to a junior FO yesterday who had spoken with about 25 of his seniority peers, and only 1 of them felt that a staple at Southwest was OK. I'm sure the reciprocal could be said at Southwest.

Aw, c'mon. That's hurtful.

My postings were factual, and there were a lot of them. I think that you're upset that I pointed out that RAH pilots have every right to expect the relative seniority that has been defined here as fair. At any rate, it'll be taken care of, whatever influence the pilot groups of all 3 airlines had in "mergermania" is gone. Good luck.

Thanks for the good wishes. All I can say is that I'm glad the auction is over. SWAPA did what they thought was best for their pilot group as did FAPA.

In the end, no matter how heated the debate, everyone did what they believed was right. What more can you ask for?

Good luck to F9ers out there. They had a difficult choice that no one hopes to ever make.
