Was it a B-777-200, B-777-200ER or B-777-200LR?

I remember flying ATH to JFK several times on TWA and having to make a stop enroute a couple of times to get fuel and that was on a 747 .

THAT was a 747-100, not known for it's range! Probably stopped in FCO, CDG or LHR.

It was also years ago and they were flying out of the old airport. In the summer most aircraft types were weight restricted on TO. Almost a non issue at the new airport.

Olympic has the 747-200s it was a direct flight to JFK. When Onassis still owned the company he would operate a JFK flight with a stop over in CDG just for prestige of flying into Paris.
