It goes the same for the RJ. Same width and pitch. Coach is coach.
Apparently you don't get it. That is not true, there are variances in coach from airline to airline and airplane to airplane. And most certainly, RJ coach is vastly different than 767 et al coach. i.e. Because of the arc of the cabin, a window seat on an RJ sucks for tall people. Not to mention, the quality of the seats on RJ's suck when you compare it to most configurations of Boeings or Airbuses.

You're correct, it is all in the head and that has everything to do with it. When yogi's can sit on a bed of needles, it's all in their heads too. Anyway, to many passengers, that sense of spaciousness is important......understandably so.

I agree, there are differences. The 320 series seats are wider generaly by 1 inch (sometimes by only .5) when compared to the 757 or 737. Also the 767 is usually 18" wide while the 757 is usually 17 inch wide.
One inch doesn't sound like a lot, but over 6 hours+ it is much appreciated.
Then you have the overal cabin width. The 320 feels better to the passengers than the 737 because the sidewall is not as close to the seat. The 767 has more walking room with the twin isles and that really matters when people are up stretching and standing in line for the head.
Lastly, the larger 767 is smoother in rough air than say a 737 all other things being equal. This means a more comfortable ride for the pass and less seatbelt light time.
Having said all of that, I really love the Bus from a pilots perspective. I have a nice tray table to eat and read at and the cockpit noise is pretty low. The 319LR is a rocket as well. Of course I have never driven the 73, so I don't claim to compare.

Commuting on different airlines, as well as going international on various airlines, I agree with what you're saying.
Riding on the ERJ/CRJ sucks, due to what many others, and you have said. Window seat sucks, small cabin gives feeling of being cramped, etc.
If we're taking about seats, and restricting it to CAL/XJT, the CAL 737 seats flat out suck. The ERJ seat is more comfortable, or rather, less uncomfortable. Just personal experience, but the Airbus seems to offer the least discomfort, with my own nod going to Frontier and JB's seats.

Seeing how I made the initial 'uncomfortable' comment I'll reply. Like calling the 737 uncomfortable is equivalent to making someones mother. Odd.
Anyway, as a non-biased passenger simply stating opinion I will say flying on the 737 for 5 plus hours is much less comfortable than flying on any widebody. CAL seats suck. The 737 and 757 are miserable for anything longer than 3 hours. Seat pitch on the 76 is better by one inch and are slightly wider with fewer middles. Doesn't seem like much but it matters. Also I can stand upright to p1ss and don't have to cue for the lav. Doesn't really matter what we think. The 737NG is now the transcon/Hawaii machine simply due to economics.
