I don't know if our 737s can do LPV approaches, but if they could it would be a 250/1 approach.
Highly unlikely unless your 737s are WAAS approved. I do not think they are.. Most likely your 737s are approved for the LNAV/VNAV minimums.

Well done Delta! Always glad to read about legacies flying new service in lieu of the regional option. Enjoy those overnights, great live music outdoors at The Hog's Breath. It is a darn short runway, don't float. . .

I'd bet a guppy would be RNP SAAAR approved before it would get WAAS LPV approved...

While EYW is short, it isn't a difficult airport to fly into...you just have to fly the airplane by the numbers, like a professional.

For crews? They are not laying over crews and neither are we. The plane is on the ground for only 0+45.

How much fun is a joke if only you know the punchline?

This seems a little crazy to me. I used to be a station pilot there at NAS Key West and sat in on the visit between a Comair CP and our OPSO when discussing using NAS as a divert around 2003. He was concerned then about the RJ landing/take-off distance on that runway. I've also tried to non-rev down there recently and found out the hard way that those 70 seaters go down there with empty seats for performance reasons. Will this be a special qual field. Add a little water on the runway and/or float down the runway and its mangrove city (that's what they call the bushes that grow in the flats). People readily acknowledge that 6k runways can be a challenge i.e. Burbank, Midway but 4800ft. DAL is asking for trouble on this one IMO. Pilots should fly a approach to a 4800 ft runway in the sim to get a look at exactly what it takes to land and stop. I wonder if DAL has actually flight checked that with any kind of load. I imagine that there will also be empty seats and min fuel. I imagine that NASKW is a divert again. Glad I'm JFK based. I love a challenge but IMO that flight will be putting guys tickets at risk every day.

P.S. Love Teasers. Best TB on the Key.
