....
You remind me of this one pilot we used to have at a previous airline. He was from the Middle East and the vast majority of people struggled with his heavy accent; in fact ATC would routinely ask him to repeat what he'd just said so his nickname became "say again."
He had an attitude, hated this country and would share his resentment ad nauseam with the rest of us.
He felt that Americans were simply too stupid to understand him, it couldn't possibly be his fault.
(Disclaimer - I also knew other pilots from that region who were good guys, loved our freedoms and tried their best to become good citizens - in fact, he was the exception to the rule)
Anyways, one day he came into the maintenance shop and said something to one of the ladies there. He was loud, animated and talked really fast. She listened patiently and said "Hon, I'm really sorry but I'm not sure what you just said, would you please repeat it?" That's when he got really mad and with a great deal of disgust in his voice yelled out "Woman! I speak five languages and you only speak one! - why can't you understand me!?!?!?
The lady who was a sweetheart and a true Southern Belle replied in her sweet North Carolina accent "Sugar pie - if English is one of the five then no, you only speak four!" Priceless!
Funny story...is it possible that this fly4cash jacka$$ may be the same guy?
Hahaha, so you can get furlough later by UAL, CAL, DAL or USAIR because they can't afford to paid your so priceless hourly wages, times are different now, how about just have a decent job and be happy with it, and oh before I forget Thank you ALPA so much for all your support on our contracts, ALPA has done an awesome job by keeping us happy at work.
BLAME ALPA at the end of the day is all their fault.
If you are an "American by Choice" kinda guy it is OK to type like you do (level 1 in grammar skills). But to think you are better in any way shape or form is ignorant. Like you, I do speak 5 languages but one of mine is english so obviously we don't share that part. If you fly something heavier than my little 767ER it is OK too, but to think that any 121 pilot don't have the capability to perform your job is ignorant as well. So maybe it is time for you to spend some time learning this wonderful country (and its ONLY official language) instead of criticising it like you do? You let me know the answer, and believe me when I tell you ALPA is not your answer.
FV - just wanted to clarify... You don't count Norwegian as one the five do you? After all, that's basically a redneck version of Swedish...
Your post btw - spot on!
In my redneck language - dra dit peppern gror. What is Swedish? Is that the little, no significant country on the right side of the center of our world map?....
