GREAT question.. and IMO.. no, not really.

I do watch Colbert occasionally, and while it seems some of his stuff is TIC.. I have my doubts that it really is. And his self promotion gets a little old after awhile..

Oh, and how did this thread rate 5 stars????

Class act through and through. While I do think that most of us are capable of managing an emergency like that with a successful outcome, I don't know how many of us could manage the aftermath the way he has. That's where he has won me over.

I read an interview with Colbert where he was asked about the show. Besides making satire of politics, the main point of his show is poking fun at the various overly opinionated self promoting "news" personalities that currently exist on whatever network.

So that self promotion that gets old is him mimicking your favorite/least favorite show host. Whether it's O'reilly, Hannity, Olbermann, Mandow, Matthews, etc.

Yeah I think about that too. Hannity drives me nuts with his self promotion. "Three hours a day every day, that's all we ask..." sickening. I can't even listen to that fool anymore. He and Savage, although Savage just because he never lets anyone else speak for more than 15 seconds. I digress. I like Colbert in small doses, but I am just not so sure his satire is all that.. well.. satirical. I haven't read the interview of which you speak, so it's just my opinion.
