But I would not believe if alot of the majors are in the same boat.
ok all this talk of awards and cost to retain people is useless info. how about some ACTUAL numbers of retirements in 2013 and beyond???

Do the math on salaries over the last 14 years, sir, who was dead wood on the piloting profession. In fact lets do the math since the inception of your airline, America West, since 1983 vs Usairways pilots.

You chose to work 25 years for garbage wages, and no scope clause. You want to rewrite history on yourself.

AWA had a pretty good scope clause. Nothing over a certain gross weight, I believe it was 90K, which prevented anything bigger than a CRJ. No E-jets flying for AWA over 70 seats. The CRJ 900 was the only jet that would fit in over 70 seats and no one would ever mistake that for a mainline jet.

BTW, all41, enjoy the 10 K your F/O buddies voted for. Hope you were not one of the East Captains that got screwed in the payout. Another USAPA moment.

The AWA contract was behind in pay but then we only had 2 contracts in our history. We were on our way to improving our pay until Doug bought the abortion known as US Airways. Our workrules were among the best in the industry. our disability program was industry leading - 66% of your pay until SS age (67) and no income offsets if you lost your ability to fly. USAPA is trying to gut that one as well.

Wow! $50,000 per year average shortfall compared to USAir. That's One Million Dollars in W-2 alone over a 20 year career.

Throw me in that briar patch!

Had a A330 Captain from USAir Jumpseat over to PHL yesterday. He said they will loose 250 people next year due to retirment but with the lose of the E-190's it would equal out so no hiring anytime soon.

I was a F/O for the first 6 months. Left seat from March 1984 on every jet type we have ever had on the property to include the B-747. I have not seen less than 6 figures over the past 20 years and don't have a dimes worth of debt to my name. You do the math genious.
