Default Questions about painting a passenger jet

And now for something completely different...

1. How often does a company like SWA paint their aircraft?

2. How much does it cost to paint an aircraft in the standard company livery?

3. How much would it cost to paint something like this?

If you have any ideas for helping to make this a reality, please give me a shout.

I don't know current prices but about 6 years ago it was $120K for a 737-300. Paint lasted ~10 years. So in round figures, it cost $1K per month for paint on a SWA 737.

Interesting that you mention WN....some of those planes really could use some fresh paint.

Does that include the door jams, or just a mask and shoot?

The Alaska Fisheries Marketing Board and Alaskan Airlines have gone into a joint venture to promote the sale of fresh seafood from Alaska. Essentially, the plane is a flying billboard for fresh Alaskan seafood.

Alaska Airlines paid for $75,000 of the paint job. The total cost was in the range of $300,000. The remainder of the tab was picked up by American taxpayers.
