The list has been finalized for 2 1/2 years(Nicholai award). It can not be used however until there is a common contract that covers both pilot groups. Neither side is negiotating very hard because for the east pilots(who control the new union USAPA) it would mean that the new sen. list goes into effect. From the company standpoint it would mean that pay raises woud go into effect. There is also a 12/8 court date in SFO to try to overturn the successful lawsuit brought by the AWAL pilots against the new union.

The 200 pilots to be let go announced yesterday break down into approx 165 east, 35 west. The east operates the EMB190's that are being sold to Republic.

What's so comical about a CRJ pilot. We all have to start somewhere. As I stated before, I would love for all the flying to be done by mainline. RAH is a cancer to this industry, so get over it dude.

Does this sound right?

East - Aug 1999 hire date
West - July 2004

You Are Right!

Considering the tea-bagging that the East Coast crowd has done to the West Coast pilots, the company & all their fellow employess at US, I think that it would be far more equitable for:

East - 200 Furloughs

West - O Furloughs

rah managment might be a cancer, the pilots are simply trying to make the best out of a sh!tty industry.

This is still just a temporary bandaid to be placed over a gushing wound. not one of these "fixes" is going to do a thing to help airways to be profitable. Its only a matter of time. As a Pittsburgher who has seen airways suffering and dieing over the last 10 years this is sad. what once was a respectable airline is being run by a bunch of jagoffs who dont have a clue what it takes to run a legacy or even a regional airline.

Actually, if the RAH pilots continue to fly E190's for grossly low wages, they are a cancer as well. Okay, maybe they are making the best out of a crappy industry. Does that make them colon cancer?

Aw geez, it was just a joke.

I have nothing against the RAH pilot group, they have no control of any management decisions. If they are told to go fly an airplane, they just have to go out and do it. I hope when the time comes for contract negotiation they will ask for no less than JetBlue/US Airways wages to fly the E190.

Sorry to all the US Airways pilots that are being affected by the cuts. This thread is suppose to be about US Airways and my comments might have caused some RAH discutions. Good luck to all.

Not exactly true. PSA was given the chance to take CRJ 900's but because we couldn't agree on pay rates the pilot group voted NO to the companies offer.
RAH decided that they would get the airplanes first, then discuss the pay rates.
I am sure they will ask for Jet Blue wages but will end up with much less. Hell they should ask for Jet Blue plus 2% for kicks. It will end up being Mesa -2%. But at least people get to fly a Mainline Jet.
