You haven't seen some of the little darlings from overseas. The worst are the holiday flights where 1/4 of the passengers of little love ones. There are many passengers sit back and let it happen, and expect the cabin crew to deal with the rug rats.

Default point of view from a mother of 2 grown kids

Ask your parents what you were like as a 2 year old and I,m willing to bet that some if not all of you acted just like this 2 year old did .
The intolerance towards children and each other is amazing .

I'll probably be hated for this post...
I 100% agree!

Hey... isn't that's what makes a horse race?... we all have our opinions?.

I've always said that the young belong in the rear of the jet. Near the toilets, and away from the majority of the passengers who want a little escape from the daily gind.

I had to deadhead once on a flight from LGA-FLL. To my surprise they put me in first class. Next to me was a professional business woman. Behind us was a mother and her toddler. After we became airborne, the kid's behavior became ridiculous; yelling, crying, kicking the seat, etc. The lady sitting next to me said to me, "They shouldn't let kids in first class," and looked at me like she was demanding I do something.

The FA tried several times but none of her tricks calmed this kid down and the mother didn't seem to care.

If a stranger hit my toddler, I would kill him on the spot. Seriously.

I'm an advocate of well-mannered and disciplined children but they simply do not respond predictable under the age of 3 or so. I also think small kids should not be allowed in first class, but I'm sure the airlines are too greedy to implement that.

I disagree. While do not have children, I resent the he** out of being forced to endure misbehaving children and non-existant parenting. In the privacy of their own home, what they do is their business, but when they bring a screaming brat on a plane (or other public place) and don't control their children; that's wrong.

When I was that age my parents would not take me to a restaurant because they didn't want my bad behaviour to ruin other diners dining experience.

Way back in the day... that was the norm for some carriers... no screamers allowed in first class.

How many remember the United Airlines Businessmen's express from New York to Chicago in the '60s? Interesting stories came from that special service too.

Young children are a product of their "era". I don't know exactly how I behaved as a 2 yr old but I know how my younger siblings behaved. They sat in a church pew with the rest of the family for at least an hour every Sunday. And if they even thought of acting out they got the hairy eyeball. Whoa be on to you if that didn't work and dad had to take you outside!!! Moms who stayed home with their kids 24/7 knew what to watch for and how to head it off at the pass. Parents who warehouse their kids, daycare for most of the day, feed them and then let them roam the house till they collapse and are carried off to the bed = don't have a clue how to do that. If the poor kid never has any structure in their lives with the parent, the parent is now helpless on an airplane. They should hire the daycare provider to travel along - at least they know the kid.

Many of today's parents rely on electronic playthings to occupy young children. When the announcement is made to turn off the electronics till announcement is made at altitude, the kid has nothing for distraction. Many of these parents have nothing else in the arsenal- no favorite book, no snacks just that deer in the headlights look.

I had the middle seat next to a mom with a child in her lap at the window seat. I know this kid was older than 2 and should have had a paid seat. She let him drink a Starbucks coffee. That was the extent of her distractions! Coffee!!! Can you guess how this 4 hour flight went for the passengers in the surrounding area?
