She wants an apology and compensation!? Flying isn't a right, it is a privilege. If you can't control your offspring, don't subject the rest of us to it. If anything, she should be refunded the ticket price, but even that would be debatable.

Kudos for the crew. Been there and done that too. If the parent can't control there little charges, then unless their little angels can fit in a kennel carrier and be placed underneath, then no screaming brats on the jet.

The only thing I learned from this story is to bring a screaming kid so I will get my ticket refunded and 300$ in compensation.

I don't really agree or disagree with kicking the kid off since this is a situation dependent move, but good luck controlling a two year old.

Whatever, when my kids were 2 (and every other age), they were very well behaved. Especially in public, because that I would jerk a half hitch in their a$$. Thats the problem today, too many "rods" spared and too many children spoiled. Good for the crew!!

Scoop
Your job as a parent simply put is: TO BE A PARENT.

Be a mom

Be a dad

Control your kid. If you can't then you don't get to play with the other kids on the airplane. STAY HOME.

Wink Thank you SWA !!

Been there, done that. Thanks to the crew for dispatching the Mom and cranky kid, even if it involved a gate turn back.

The expense of the fuel lost was worth it. Another reason to fly SWA !

Thanks Mates

Scoop
Once upon a time, my daughter was two years old. Through good and active parenting by both her mother and myself, she was always well behaved.. but thank you for your well wishes. And I hope you have healthy and well behaved children too Scoop.

Anyway... on the jet, my job is to provide safe conduct of passage of passenger, crew and cargo from point A to point B. If my cabin crew, who I trust, deem that there is something or someone that may pose a threat to the aforementioned, then said problem will be remedied prior to departure even if a return to stand is required.

I do have to add, that I have stand returns do to misbehaving passengers of all types and ages without any question from the company.
