Default Congratulations!

With such a large percentage vote in favor of the agreement, it looks to be another WIN-WIN agreement between SWA management and the pilot group.

While I realize that there will be some that are unhappy with the agreement, it is refreshing to see such a large labor group come to an amicable agreement with management.

Good job!

Working on posting them - they have to be converted to hourly rates, all I have seen is "trip rates." Overall, it is 4% retroactive from a little more than two years, then another 2% in 2011 if I remember right. There is a variable raise in 2009 and 2010, but with the economy in the tank I don't think we'll get any variable raise. Bottom line, 4% immediate, 6% total raise, increased 401k match and various work rule changes.

Also, there were larger pay increases for senior FO's to compensate for slower upgrade times due to recent reduced growth. Pay raises for senior FO's was more like 11%, giving an hourly rate of around $135/hour for an 8 year first officer.

Gotta like a union that takes care of its first officers, too.

Sounds great WN. No bashing, just a note on how sadly the profession has declined; we are celebrating 135/hr for a narrowbody FO after 8 years, when just 9 short years ago several legacies paid close to that year 2. Sigh....

AEWANABE - Which legacies payed $135/hour in year 2? No bashing, just cite your source - you said that there were several.

No bashing taken. Those legacies extracted unrealistic wage increases that caused huge problems among the internal employee groups and ill will towards the customers who then voted with their feet. 9-11 (and of course a trip through bankruptcy) sure brought those wages back in to the realm of reality. Those wage increases were unsustainable long term based on financial reasons (i.e. income vs. revenue) and the competitive pressure from the LCC's.

Just the facts!
