Default Do you wear your seatbelt in the hotel van?

Just what percentage of you wear your seat belts in the hotel vans?

I've noticed over the years just how few crewmembers wear their seat belts in the hotel vans. I came across this interested article that the NHTSA put out a couple of years back. I always wear my seat belt because I was in a horrible accident years ago wear a seat belt kept me from being injured and probably saved my life.

NHTSA Action Plan for 15-Passenger Van Safety

BUCKLE UP!!

Exclamation Thrill ride

Mix potholed streets, a crazed driver and a shot suspension. Even if the van doesn't crash, unbelted passengers will get a severe head-bonking, especially in the rearmost seat.

Why do you guys start these pointless poll threads? Does it really edify you that much to know who wears a seatbelt? Oh and one more question; WHO CARES?

Many hotel vans don't even have seatbelts. The big plastic vans with sideways seats come to mind.

I know that at DL, there were some FAs in a van that was in a wreck. The ones injured and wearing a seatbealt were covered by OJI. Those not wearing a belt were SOL. If you wear a seatbelt when you are driving, why would you trust a van driver who is obviously NOT a better driver than you?

I wear mine, but it seems that most of the people I fly with believe in the 'Hotel Van Fairy' that magically protects them. I also notice that when I buckle up, about 75% of the time everyone else does too- herd mentality I guess.

I know some people fantasize about getting hurt at work and living off workers comp for the rest of their lives, but really, how ****ed would you be if you had to live with some life long injury the because the 17 year-old jackass van driver in Greenville SC (or wherever), rolled the 'Sprinter' over in the ditch because he was texting to his baby's momma about how he needed to come over after work?

If I ever get seriously hurt or killed, I really hope it's while I'm doing something fun- not while I'm at work (including driving to and from).

Why do you ask an even more pointless question? Does it edify you that much to express your (so compelling ) opinion as to whether or not a thread is valid? If you really didn't care, why post?

If you don't like pointless poll threads, don't put your mouse pointer on it and click.

Free unsolicited advice - worth what it costs.

If you care enough to post a poll in the first place, try to phrase the questions as neutral as possible so as not to sway the poll participants.
