What happened to the original B-scale? Do you think the company would remember and think that what happened to the first one would also happen to a second?

Really? Suffocate...? How's that working out for Southwest.... they have tons of "regional" feed, and their pay and work rules are just terrible.... right?

If you think SWA's business model and AA's are remotely similar, there's nothing more I can do for you. At any rate, you need to convince AA management your assertions are valid, not another pilot.

APA has been unusually quiet, without the stories of storming out of negotiations meetings, and press releases ridiculing mgmt. Anyone else?
I've noticed it too... I hope they get a new contract soon, maybe they'll get some movement going, or dare I say growth.

True, eaglefly. A common mistake among newbies is to compare a low cost carrier operation with an international carrier.

For newbies, Southwest airlines doesn't need to fill up any 777 or 747 aircraft for international flights. It is easier to fill up a 737 for a flight from Houston to El Paso than a 767 for a flight from Atlanta to Heathrow. Southwest doesn't need feed, but Delta does need it for their type of operation.

You sir are correct. AA loses money, Southwest makes money. They aren't the same at all.

Give him a break. He's only another know it all kid from a pilot factory with little flight time and not the future they sold him in the brochures at the Pilot Factory U. He's no better or worse than the other angry kids doing the same thing.

The main point is that the majors need feed and the low cost carriers do not. Should Jetblue's 190's be considered feed or only a right-sized airplane for certain routes?

Agreed about the difference between Legacy airlines and the LCCs. It's apples and oranges.

BTW, Mason isn't a newbie. He's an ex-Eagle pilot who is no longer an airline pilot IIRC. I don't know if he flys professionally anymore. If he doesn't, he's not alone. As soon as the economy picks up, I think we'll lose a few hundred more of our First Officers who no longer see a future in becoming rich flying airliners.
