Currently the most junior capt and fo are both at BWI. OAK, MDW, and BWI are all real close in juniority. A newhire could probably be in any of those bases by choice within two months. DAL, PHX, HOU, and MCO go more senior.

thanks SWAcapt, i still have to log some more leftseat PIC time, but hopefully will be eligible for submission of application in the next 6 months or so, and have been wanting to relocate to the pacific northwest eventually and thought oakland would be a good crew base. thanks for your feedback.

BMX, I have a couple friends who live on Whidbey Island and also Seattle who do the oakland commute. As much as I love SWA and feel very blessed to be here, I would advise you to really look at your options. We all have different goals and make decissions for different reasons. I personally would not commute by choice. If I had to live in Seattle for some critical reason, I'd be looking at Alaska Airlines. If my desire to work for SWA was greater than my desire to live in a certain area, I would look closely at our 7 domiciles (rumor has it we will announce #8 next month) and pick one to live in. Our schedules are written as AM lines and PM lines. It is very difficult to get commutable lines, ie you'll be flying in the night before an AM or spending the night after a PM. That could be another 4 nights away from home. Just something to think about. Good luck with your hour building and your application process....it's a great place to be.;)

thanks for the advice SWA, i know what you mean about living where you work, what a great gig that would be, but, I'm really wanting to live in the great city of Portland OR and also work for the great company SWA, or someother company as well. as for now, my desire to live there outweighs my desire for more days off....for now anyways... thanks again.

SWAcapt - I agree completely. How long to hold HOU, even on reserve?

It took the junior HOU FO 4 months to get there. First bid line was OAK, second and third were MDW and then HOU for SEP.

I heard rumors DEN or TPA. And I think they’re going to announce it in September. Has anyone heard anything to substantiate that?

My money's on DEN
