Global, yeah right, as long as your entire Globe fits inside the 285 beltway.

I think it's $500 per sim. Each sim is about 6 hours.

Retired employees have a higher priority than DGS employees so it would be pretty dumb to travel on DGS benefits with a lower priority.

If you are truly interested in a career path of being a Professional Simulator instructor, I would seriously look into FedEx's program.

I have a very close friend that retired from Delta Air Lines and opted to work at FedEx versus going the DGS route. FedEx is paying a much better salary (90K/yr... not a per sim event... salary only)

He had ZERO time in the B777 but that is were they put him and he is a very happy camper working for Purple.

Best of luck,

OC

The training is going balls out right now, hiring 100 a month with lots of upgrades in every fleet. A seniority list IP has to work 16 Sims a month, (that's why I declined an invitation).

I think the DGS guys can work more than that if they want to.

I thought I heard that DGS are 95,000 a year doing normal "full" months (17 sims).

We have one certain DGS instructor on the 320 that teaches in the fixed base that averages around 25 events a month. I've seen her do 28! She is one absolutely top notch instructor, too.

Yeahbut...is she hot??

That's about $168,000/yr. If they are paid $500/sim. Nice gig for a retired pilot.... if you can stand to be in the box for 28 periods a month!

If she's double banging, that's only 14 days a month, which would be much better!

Actually.. yes!

She's married to a Cathay guy (quit NW on his furlough- whoops!), so when he's gone on his long trips, she cranks out the cash in our schoolhouse.
