Delta 'instructor' Pilots?
#21
There is no minimum guarantee for DGS guys. The scale tops out at about $450/sim, in round numbers. You can make a good living, but there are NO guarantees, sorta like commission sales. DGS instructor gets the same non rev status as a line pilot, and is jump seat eligible on main line DL. Unless you are a retired Delta instructor/Line Check Airman, it's easier to get hired as a line pilot, than as a DGS instructor.

Completely false. When you are hired at DGS, IT's no different than being hired at DAL. you go by your date of hire ahead of all retirees. As a matter of fact a DAL RETIREE who comes back to DGS IS BETTER OFF using his or her DGS seniority vs DAL retirement seniority.

Had a sim with a DGS guy a few years ago. Said COBRA was his only option thru DGS. Not sure if that's changed since. Obviously, if you have insurance thru spouse, this is less of an issue.
