Default Delta's Economy Comfort

I'm flying Delta to Asia in 45 days. Has anyone tried their Economy Comfort seats, which they are offering for $120 more? Are they worth the extra expense?

The flight going over to NRT is more than 11 hours long so an extra 4 inches might make a big difference. I don't drink so the complimentary endless booze won't do anything for me, but perhaps I should start drinking.

By any chance are you heading to NRT for an interview with ANA?

It's not bad, it's comparable to United E+ seating...I would imagine that it would nice to be able to stretch out more on a flight that long.

I've jumpsat on DL's 76ER's from Seattle to Atlanta a bit recently and the E+ on them is very nice on that 4 hour flight...just wish those planes had wi-fi though...

A guy I workout with at the gym just got back from a trip to Europe on Delta. He paid the extra bucks for the Economy Comfort and said it was worth every penny for him since he's so tall (about 6'2" I would guess).

Business Elite is the way to go to Asia. Very good food, great seats, good service.

The economy plus seats are as advertised. If tall, maybe it would be worth it. You might also get similar room by finding a bulkhead. The issue with some bulkhead seats is those are frequently used by the moms traveling with babies. There is a sort of cradle that the FA's can cleco fasten to the bulkhead. If you are seated next to the crib, explain to the mom she needs to keep the netting snapped in place. That's the "seat belt" and the FA's have to ensure the restraint is used ... meaning they wake the kid up snapping it into place.

Sleeping child to Asia =
Awake child to Asia =
Business Elite is always

We did ATL->Copenhagen->ATL in E+. Well worth the 2" of legroom and 4" of recline (I may have that backwards). Be careful about getting the E+ near the exit rows, I don't think you get the full recline - limited to 2", not 4"

Seatguru is a great website.

Thanks everyone!

No, I am not going to NRT for an interview with ANA. NRT is not my final destination this time.

I am only 5'5" so having an extra 4" will seem like moving from a twin bed to a king sized bed.

Since I am semi-retired and only practicing law as a hobby, I cannot convince my husband to spring for Business Elite.

Serving as moderator has taken me very close to drinking, smoking, and overeating many times. That's why I leave certain forums to you guys!

I would say 120 dollars would be a bargain for a flight that long. I'm 6'3" and have tried out the seats (just momentarily before the passengers boarded) and it makes a significant difference.

Have fun!
