Southwest Rejection, again...

You could go to Delta, and have a 10 year upgrade (without ANY growth), and get to fly everything from the 320 to the 747 in the meantime.
I was turned down by SWA about a decade ago, and don't count it as a bad thing, even though I'd be a (junior) captain there if I'd made it.

I'm guessing you weren't a finance major in school?

You could go to Delta and have an 18-20 year upgrade, make 33 percent less than a pilot at Southwest, work more days than a Southwest pilot, and still think you are better off because the Southwest pilots have to fly the 737 the rest of their careers while you can fly many different airplanes.

How does umemployed stack up against our retirement program?
Maybe think of that next time before you hit enter on the keyboard.

SWA has the luxury of being one of the few companies hiring right now so there's a lot of qualified dudes who aren't getting through the process.
A lot of us SWA guys have been stymied by the system lately too and can't even get dudes who are highly recommended by several pilots through.
Good luck and I hope this economy turns around for all of us.

Heartless? That's as heartless as someone saying in 2000, "Don't worry that United didn't hire you. They are a mess."

So since you stated that as a fact, perhaps you can give us verifiable projections. I imagine there were some big adjustments to projections and would like to see them.

Got it today at noon...chin up, pressing on!!
Thank you for your interest in the First Officer position at Southwest Airlines during the October 2011 application window. Southwest is fortunate to receive interest from many qualified Candidates for the limited number of open Pilot positions at a given time. At this time, the October 2011 application window is closed and all interviews have been conducted for our First Quarter 2012 class dates.
After careful consideration, you were not selected at this time to move forward in our hiring process. You are welcome to apply when Southwest has First Officer openings in the future, through www.southwest.com/careers during a future Pilot hiring event.
We wish you success in your career endeavors and thank you again for your interest in Southwest Airlines.
