Because he couldn't if he tried.

Sorry buddy! Haven't gotten the letter yet although I'm sure its on its way. (No type, another mid-30s white guy with a few thousand TPIC time.)

Keep your chin up and keep applying. I hear after 10 rejection letters you get a free T-shirt!

Second time, no interview yet.

No 737 type yet; waiting on the VA to send me my eligibility cert and will then schedule with HPA.

5000 TT (all turbine)
3200 PIC (including 1000 instructor)
1700 SIC
Three other type ratings

Well one thing's for sure, you WON'T get hired after a rejection if you don't reapply!

Whatever dude.

I was wondering if others were getting the e-mail. I didn't see it in any of the other threads...just trying to get some discussion started.

Good luck with your search.

1. The attrition-only upgrade time at Delta is much less than Southwest now. That may change.

2. Surely you're not saying that the pay differential will remain the same in years to come? That may change.

Same ballpark (within 10-20%), and I don't have to commute (which is to say that I'm home more than I would be at Southwest). Pay is very ephemeral. Seniority, not so much.

Wait....I was just trying to say that it's not the end of the world if you didn't get hired by SWA. Are you trying to tell that guy that it is?
