Default Southwest Pool

I got hired by SW back in Jul and I'm just wondering how long it takes Southwest to call people who are currently in the pool. I'm separating from the AF in February and am waiting for my training date. Does anyone know what their training dates are for Feb/Mar timeframe? And how long typically are you in the pool? Thanks!

I waited over 25 months, but that was a little over two years ago.

FWIW.

My guess is that you won't have to wait long. One friend of mine (former regional pilot) went from interview to class in 6 weeks. (He already had his type rating.) Another friend of mine (Currently in the AF as a C-17 instructor pilot) submitted his application and got the phone call for an interview one week later.

FWIW...

I'd say that perhaps you have not been called because you're not available. Give the People Dept. a call and tell them your no-kidding date that you can be sitting in class. Oh, and sorry that you were'nt able to get into the Navy

I went from inteview to sitting in class in exactly 2 months. They are going to run a class a week in January, but don't know anything about Feb/Mar.

Buddy of mine got hired last month and expects a training date in January. Using my faulty logic, I would think they're scheduling Feb training dates in Nov/Dec?

I just went through the interview on Monday. They told us that if you get hired and already have the type you can expect a class date within 2 months. Without they type they recommended getting the type asap in order to get a quick class date once hired.--Also, most of the guys in my interview group did not have the type already. I think 2 out of 20 had the type.

Wow. That is surprising. Although, I did the interview Tuesday and I think that probably 5 or less had the type out of 16.

Hey Vegas/FL flipper,

That's amazing, I had heard there was an October interview class with 3 out of 24 typed. Figured it was some kind of freak one time instance. Any idea what the general availability dates were for the guys without types in your interview classes? Just wondering if they're calling people without type that aren't available in less than 6 months. I had heard a few weeks ago they were considering applicants within 9 months of availability. Mine's June 1st but no call yet, getting the type in January.
