Default How did big F-Day 1 go?

Only had to work one leg today out of IAH, things seemed pretty ordinary for the 1.5 hours in that part of the country.

Was this just fear tactics? What's the scoop? (Referring to ATC furloughs and impact on schedules)

All good at Bos & JFK as well. We will see how things go this week. I would like to believe it is all scare tactics but we will see.

As of 8:24pm EDT, JFK and LGA are on GDPs with average delays of 70 & 74 minutes due to N90 staffing, and HPN has been on a ground stop for quite a while and until 10pm due to N90 staffing.

So it seems like either N90 has the biggest staffing result, or the biggest drama license.

Went into EWR, not bad at all. 20 min wait for wheels up time. Heard planes holding going into LGA, though.

Ord-phl today. Not a single cloud the whole day and scheduled between us air banks. Vectored all over the place and slowed way down. All others behind us were given holding. Glad we added gas. We would have landed under min if we didn't.

Sounds like business as usual at PHL & NYC.....glad to see this isn't affecting the northeast.

Typically ATL keeps the traffic moving.. it was like they were trying for a slowdown on taxi in tonight.

We landed on 10 and were parking on ramp 6, but they made us go all the way down to the make shift end around they use to cross 9L at P.

Well, they sent a couple heavies off of 9L full length, so we held short. Then they sent an E190 full length as well (strange in itself- do they really need 12,000 feet of runway to go to PHL instead of the M2 cutback?), while the now 7 long lineup waiting to cross 9L continued to build up.

After the E190 launched, there was no one else in line, but no word on crossing anyone. Finally, after a minute of silence and no one anywhere in sight, I had to ask if we could cross- to which permission was granted (and subsequently the rest of the line). I'd like to think the controller just forgot, but that's a heck of a long traffic jam and very abnormal for ATL to not keep the planes moving. Hopefully it's not intentional slowdown to make a point.

That's what I was thinking. Was based in LGA for 2 years, daily circus. Used to go in and out of PHL three times a day when I was BOS based. NOTHING NEW for LGA/PHL to be a goat rope.

I'm pretty sure that PHL is the world's largest uncontrolled field.

Commuted to IAH up front on a 88 this morning.. They purposely stacked up 9L for no apparent reason..

The 88 FO: cleared to push tail north.. I thought DAWGS were going off the north side? It looks like no line up over there..
DL Ramp: nope they want y'all off 9L.
88 FO: ok?..

They took us all the way down to ramp 5 before turning us back west to get in the line for 9L.. It's like they were trying to create a slow down just like you said. All while there was zero lineup for 8R.. Hmmmmm. But had us do M2 launch
