You really don't get it, do you?

Or do you just like being a pain in my ***?

Apply elsewhere and save the shrink a bad day, and me a lot of beer.

Deal with it. The shrink process has done a great job overall weeding out 99% of the crazies. Unfortunately a few good ones have gotten passed over, too... but no process is perfect.

That is EXACTLY what the psych eval is about.

Are you tolerable, are you a "Normal Person" or do you have issues?

It's not about qualifications, any moron can fly an airplane and a lot of them do. The Shrink is there to keep the real problem children out, and he's doing a great job. In 28 years, I can honestly say, there was only one guy I've flown with who had issues...but he might have been going through a divorce, so I bought his beer and let it go. 99.9% of the guys I fly with are great guys to fly with, hang out with, etc. So, what ever the shrink is doing, he's doing it well.
Don't tell the shrink that you liked blowing .... up in the Air Force. This guy failed the psych eval. He told us that this is the only thing he could think of that the shrink would have a issue with.

You're missing the point. Timbo is 100% correct. It doesn't really matter who you find fun to fly with. If you are fortunate enough to get an interview, the testing and interview are just part of the deal. You'll have to pass the shrink or you are toast. If that doesn't meet your expectations, apply elsewhere. Those of us that are here went through it. Timbo's right. It works. 99.9% of the guys I fly with are great dudes.

Hate to break it too you, but since I was born in 1972 and started flying at age 16, I can't relate to the 28 years. But, since I've been flying professionally since 1998 in the military/civilian 99.9% of the the guys/gals I've flown with are great guys/gals. Didn't need a shrink........Don't forget, it's a two way streak......you may be the tool of the crew........it takes two to tango....and no shrink involved....that's my only point. Delta puts a lot in it's shrink evals, and I have nothing against that. It's the way they do business, and I have no problem with that. I personal do fell that they do miss out on a certain amount of great guys/gals by relying on a shrink.

You will if you want to work for Delta.

And, frankly, who are you to tell Delta how to hire pilots? That, in and of itself, is a flag. I'd love to be a fly on the wall of your shrink session.

Plus, it's "to" not "too" and "street" not "streak." You're quickly weeding yourself out with your attitude. I'd stop now.

This is my third rodeo. The shrink-filter works just fine.

Sorry, I only had a B in English/Grammar....Once again, I'm not against Delta and it's shrink, I was just simply stating the way it is. Why the hostility towards someone stating the obvious? Are you a bit defensive? Why be defensive? There is no reason to be, I'm not against what Delta does, just making an observation.

Delta has close to the same interview that they had in the 80's. They do it there way. It seems to work well. I have been with Delta for 7 years and have only had 2 Captains that I didn't enjoy flying with.
