Not in the slightest! I love seeing the myth dispelled about "gotta be 121 to get hired" broken.

121 guys that come over to charter repeatedly say how much harder 135 flying is. The actual flying of the airplane is only partof the job. There are a lot more balls in the air at any given time in 135 than there is in 121. I wish the HR depts would finally see that someday.

Not many in the 121 world have worked 135. Further, when you get to the 121 world, it is dificult to restrain yourself and not solve your own problems like you could in the 135 world.

In a perfect world, you run across the terminal, sit down and go fly. In the real world you sit and wait for someone, anyone, somewhere to push some buttons and make your ACARS go "bing."

Someone woke up with a case of the Mondays.

Or just stay with your old job and then transition to Delta (or United, or SWA if you're in their pool). Yeah, I guess not all currently have a job, but I would think that number would be small. In that case you can go with the ruling party's implementation plan of taking more time off from work to find yourself, or trying to become an artist.

It doesn't have to be either/or though. Long after everything went electronic you could still walk someone in. All that meant was that someone would take a glance at it, but it was better than nothing and did help. Everyone hires off of electronic apps now, yet many places still have a supplimentary walk in system. Some are formal (Silver Bullet, Blue Dart, etc) and others are unofficial like CP meet and greets.

I have no idea what the advantage is for pretty much only DL to yield all selection criteria to a cyber engine, particularly when they still have a manual hand in the process when they want to (the extremely connected will always, always, always bypass "the system").

I'd also like to see more love given on both sides of the 121/Corporate isle.

I've seen severe prejudice bordering on hate on both sides of the issue (not with DL, just in general) and there are plenty of corporate gigs that won't touch a 121 pilot and there are associated negative stereotypes about the flying and the pilots who do it that cut both ways.

One of my biggest dissapointments in C2012 was that we gave up (the freshly won grievance BTW) for the large corporate planes (G5's or equivalent I think). Yes it was only 10 or so airframes, but those are good flying jobs that we owned and controlled and essentially negotiated and paid for that we gave up and IMHO that was a mistake.

I'm not suggesting DL try to get into the "Avolar" business, but if DL is already into the business to whatever degree, some of those jobs belonged to the DL pilot group and we gave them up without the slightest mention and that sucks.

If we had held on to them, even by a tether (say if they become ours if we furlough for example) you'd see one more chip taken out of the bilateral 121/Corporate negative perception feedback loop.
