Hmmm... Ok forgive me for appearing sarcastic, I was being serious. Union involvement is an important thing in our line of work. I've become a bit more realistic about things since I started working as a union rep and now moved up to the mec at my airline. I don't simply throw out demands without actually offering alternative solutions, I engage others to find the best course of action, and I find out how realistic it is to get what we're after. The journey from point A to point B in negotiations is not a straight line.

I also meant what I said about your positive relationship with DAL mgmt. you guy TA'd your current contract before the last one even expired. That is amazing!

While I'm sure I'd eventually get an interview at dal, it wouldn't make sense to go there now. My 2nd year pay where i am now would be greater than dal first yr pay and I wouldn't want to relive another probationary year. Its all timing... regardless I don't think u can go wrong with any of the big three.
Good point Skuba. Here I am sitting in the opposite corner as you, I have a DAL interview and I'm absolutely happy about it, and I'm giving my allegiance to them (if I get the job) because they believed in me and called me first. I do hope I get the job, I won't be jumping from airline to airline. once I'm on property with an ID, I'm committed.

In other news an applicant that I recommended was told he needed to have a graduate degree & higher GPA. It appears Delta Airlines is once again engaging in an astronaut style selection program. It also says something of our being the flavor of the day. Had a SWA pilot on the jumpseat sounding a lot like he wished he was at Delta the other day.
I didn't realize it took graduate studies to utilize Bernoulli's principle and Newton's third law of motion? It's weird your friend was told then when they are also taking just high school graduates without college degrees through preferential programs.

I didn't read the previous posts....just a few comments.

Latest word....DAL will hire 50 - 65 a month....for eternity.

From a very, very reliable source. Spoke to him personally.

Also, it seems like a majority of the Flow / Preferential Interview folks are not completing the process. It's not a guarantee....just an initial offer. Take it seriously & apply yourself. With the retirements coming up, you'll be glad you did.

Giddy Up.

Separated AF Heavy guy, 4000 TT, 2500PIC, I got 4 emails about 5 weeks ago from DAL asking me to update my application, all minor stuff like high school GPA, list assignments separately, etc. I fixed it all right way and haven't heard anything since. Thoughts?

What do you mean when you say that? The flows are in without any type of "process". The SSP that Endeavor has is an interview process...maybe that's what you're talking about? The flow is a guarantee unless you fail training.

Frustrating, i realize. Friend of mine has had a similar experience. I, for one believe airlineapps/Delta should work toward a more considerate and effective process that provides some feedback to applicants after they've submitted requested changes/updates. Granted, resources can only allow for so much feedback, but at least let the applicant know if the corrections complied with what was required and an updated status. Right now too many are left wondering and IMHO it's unprofessional.

I got the same kind of e-mail in Oct about my job history. I quickly fixed the problem and have heard nothing. 2600 TT, 1300 TPIC, CFI, CFII, MEI, IP, Demo pilot, ect ect. I think my time will come. I'm just waiting….

Can't say it enough for all the fix it emails--have someone else review your history/dates/education/etc and read the blogs for common errors. Make it flow so that a computer won't reject it.

Please don't.

"Believed in you?" Delta is not your Fairy Godmother. They are in need of pilots. You have experience and training. It's a good job, to be sure. But management will attempt to manipulate and exploit that attitude.

We are nothing more than a cost unit to be minimized. An "allegiance" to Delta would be abysmally misplaced. Be professional on the job, if hired. But don't expect the company to look out for your best interests.
