If it gives anyone here hope, I was emailed for an interview with 2250TT, 2.8 undergrad GPA, 2 speeding tickets, a few rec letters, military IP/EP time. This was after 2 fix it emails last week for my app missing a few things. My lesson learned - if you want the job, keep prepping even if you think its a long shot for an interview. You never know.

Did anyone go to a high school that didn't use a 4.0 scale? Ours was on a 0-110 scale.
For tickets, do you put all of the tickets you've ever received or just the ones on your driving record? I have a couple that aren't on my record anymore and I have no info on them. I guess I could ballpark the dates?

For the tickets, put them all down. You may think they don't know and can't find out, but is the reward of them not knowing about a ticket a couple decades ago that they will not care about in the first place greater than the automatic guarantee of being pulled out of class and fired if they somehow do find out about it really worth it on the risk:reward scale?
Besides, and its amazing how many people don't completely get this, they will find negatives for you and you will have to resolve them. If you come to them perfect, they will then find something on their terms. Its far better to be honest and own up to your mistakes that you knew about all along and then explain them on your terms.
They love love love love honesty. Even more so than someone who didn't get any tickets in their 20's.

The GPA stuff is ridiculous. Pretty soon they will be needing guys so bad the only requirement is that you have seen an airplane in your life.
I know it is what it is -- but really? Your HS or College GPA? It's like all these airlines are picking folks to send them into space.

But if you barely graduated high school…and you barely graduated college…and you haven't been doing much of anything outside of showing up and flying the line, then there's a good chance you'll probably have to wait until a few thousand others are hired before you.
Likewise, if you're a 4.0 goody two shoes brainiac who rescued a bus full of kittens on the way to the interview, you still have to pass the Jedi trials before the Council agrees to train you.
Capice?

2.8 GPA in college, about 6ish speeding tickets..none in the last 7 years, got an interview.
I have a military IP background with tactical jet and multi-time and a handful of internal recs. I think that if you are a "tweener" on the hours the other stuff (GPA, speeding tickets, etc) comes more into play, but if you have demonstrated experience and people willing to back you, you should be GTG.
Just apply everywhere and keep updating your app at least every couple of months, and keep you fingers crossed for the call. You can't change your past so don't sweat the tickets/GPA!!
Good Luck Everyone!

I put them ALL down, including a few I figure aren't on anyone's radar anymore... I had a lot as a young un. Put best guess on dates and locations. Fewer as I grew up. But lots. Most recent was 3 years ago. Nothing obscene, but around 10ish moving violations, most speeding. Got asked about them when we got to that part of app review.
