Delta Hiring News

This is a total guess, but it may be because people are getting calls for immediate interviews and may not have enough time to fully prep. I studied for 2 months for my interview, any less than that and I would have struggled on the tech and cog tests. Some of my buddies were able to cram study in 2 weeks but they had a lot more free time to do so. With family/work/mil commitments, most of the people I talk to just don't have the ability or time to cram.

Delta Hiring News
quick question for those in the know. I was hired by express jet back in august and took the cog test and the knowledge test. the guy administering the tests said that if passed, you wouldn't have to retake them if you ever interviewed at delta. is there any truth to that? I did not accept the job at express jet if that has any bearing on it also. thanks.

Double that for the next couple of months.
Will hire as fast as training throughput allows.
Delta's training program is ... how do I say ... quick. Heard quite a few are needing extra sims here and there, slowing things down a bit. No problems ... .
IMHO the training issues will be resolved quickly. Delta still has a bit of a learning curve with new hires. The system is set up around Delta pilots transitioning from one type to another. As a result Delta hasn't quite figured out the level of spoon feeding necessary like the regionals have with their training programs. This is the adult school over here and it is assumed you know quite a bit off the street.

5 months after my fix-it email I finally got the one I wanted. I was unable to take the 13 August interview I was offered and scheduled for 18 August. Hope that doesn't buy me a furlough some day . I am beyond excited to get my 1st call from my top choice, and I'm glad I've got lots of time to prep. Man do I hope I don't eff this away. 03XX last 4, so if I don't screw up the interview at least I won't have to make any decisions on domicile/airframe since I'll get what I get .

I only provided 10 years of work history, and Delta wanted it back to high school. That said, a friend of mine was already in training at SWA when Delta sent him his fix-it email. He deleted the email and made no changes, and 3 days later got an offer to interview
