2 weeks notice is an absolute must if you are still employed. Many of us came from airlines that completely shut down and thus less than 2 weeks was perfectly fine.

Not sure how much I should or should not say on the forum so I've been keeping a low profile. But, I know everyone wants to keep their finger on the hiring pulse. So, here we go....

Got the offer day after the JF. They were cool with the 2wk notice to present employer. Class starts Monday. If I can offer any advice, it's consider getting some interview prep prior to the next JF.

Again, I wish everyone the best and I will keep you posted after I find out what's acceptable to relay on the forum. Thanks again for the well wishes.
P.S. Vipers, not A-10s.

Congrats! Helping potential new hires is one of the best reasons to continue on this board. Great to see you made it, and glad to have anothe military guy coming on property.

Continue to assist the guys that come behind us, it's how we can pay it forward.

I was told directly at the job fair that my resume would be pushed through for an interview. Haven't heard anything yet.

Yes, there really isn't any time to do any interview prep once they decide to proceed with a particular pilot.

When I went to a job fair in 2013, I got the second step 12 hours after the job fair, and before I knew it, I was scrambling to prepare for the job interview in Fort Lauderdale in less than 2 weeks. You get a job offer within 3 days, and offer a class date usually within 2 weeks after that.

i got sent the long form the day after the job fair. Was told that the sooner you completed the long form shows how eager you are for working at spirit. Got phone interview the next day (Saturday) when I commented on how quickly they contacted me HR said they look at all the applications taken that day and give priority to furlough pilots which I was at that time. With over a hundred qualifying applications that day and spirit only being able to train 22 per class, some applications will take longer to be contacted than others just because of the order in which they are in the "to be contacted stack." At the same job fair a friend of mine that was also furloughed from the same company, had twice as many hours as I did and was an instructor, spoke fluent Spanish and lived in Ft Lauderdale never received a phone call. No one really ever knows what HR is looking for in a pilot.

Patience. I was told at my job fair (March 2014) that my resume would be "fast tracked" for an interview. Obviously, my definition of fast track is different than Spirit's. I expected to get a phone call the next day. It was 3.5 months when I finally got an email to complete the long application. After I submitted that everything went really quickly.
