Are you talking about the DeltaNet/internal rec? If so, short version;

If you have a buddy or buddies at DAL, they can submit an internal rec that's outside of airline apps. It will guaranty that your app gets looked at/"scored". It does NOT guaranty that you will get an invite for interview.

And IIRC, if nothing heard after a year, they can resubmit another one for you.

This happened for me. I got a fix it email and nothing since.

Not sure what else to do but sit and wait.

Good luck to all.

Thumbs down Still waiting...

That's better than me. I didn't even get a fix-it email. Haven't heard anything.

I'm recently retired military, 2500 hours total, 2200 heavy jet, 1450 PIC (890 IP/EP), so I think I'd be competitive, but not sure.

Not sure exactly what competitive is. I'm civilian, ERAU degree, 12,000+ Total Jet time, 2500 Jet PIC, Airbus typed. Hurry up and wait I guess.

Good luck.

I have had my app in with Delta and American for 5-6 months, and even had a recommendation from Delta's MEC Chairman but never got a nibble from either. Put my app in with United once I had to pay the airline apps folks, and got hired within 6 weeks. Not sure what is going on or what their filters are at the other two, but I am happy with the outcome.

That's about all you can do. Although past performance doesn't guarantee future results this was my timeline

August '13: Hit enter on airlineapps
Jan '14: Fix it email
June '14: Email invite to interview from DAL
Jul '14: DAL Interview
Oct '14: DAL INDOC
Oct '14: UAL invite to interview, declined invite (this was after not updating airline apps since getting the DAL CJO in July)

2500 hours in heavy aircraft and 20 years in the USAF sounds light from my perspective. I don't have any inside info on what goes into scoring an application, but the 2 B-1 guys I know 1st hand who retired had well over 4000 hours in the Bone and T-38 and were scooped up immediately.

I'm in a primarily JB crash pad, your numbers sound a lot like what JB hires (not that your numbers aren't competitive at any legacy), have you applied there or Spirit? (or is that where you're at now?)

Crazy right? None of it really makes any logical sense from the outside.

I'm not in a bad place right now but I'm only interested in the legacies. If the call never comes, it wont be due to a lack of flight experience. Shoulda got that masters degree.

Got the CJO at Southwest today...

2500 TT
1650 TPIC
900 Instructor
6 types including the 737-type
Military Heavy AC and AETC IP
Current 121 MD-11 FO
3.43 GPA - Engineering (No Masters)
1 Internal Capt Rec
2 Internal Non-flying Recs
5 External Recs

A HUGE thanks to Centerline Interview Consulting! They were a tremendous help throughout the entire process and it would have been much harder without them. Extremely glad I chose to use interview prep.

This thread looks like mostly if not almost exclusively military is being hired.

Yes, for those responding here. However I think the spreadsheet shows about a 50/50 Mil to Civ on an annual basis...
