Default Well said sister

I have seen some top notch ladies that are well overqualified and underpaid in this field flying the caravan where they load their own cargo, instructing, and working the regionals with 1000s of multi turbine hrs. Hats off sisters. That's REAL LOVE! Also, being female doesn't mean you are also young and less than 130 lbs!
And as for the "race card", there are 50 guys pulling the DADDY CARD (daddy is rich or a pilot who pays for everything, mentors, and has all the connections) for every minority in this field! People depend on us for their safety. Let's act like it and leave sex and race for other chat rooms!

my wife was a DC3 FO for her first gig, then an EMB110 FO flying Pt135 on demand freight through a Michigan winter, then came COEX, captain on the ATR,and the Embraer 135/145 , before snagging SWA , and oh yeah she flies airshows on the B25, and you better believe I'm bragging on her, I am very proud of her. No whining allowed if you win the birth lottery and are born in this country, we all start on third base compared to much of the world here. end of rave.

Do a great favor, spend some time listening on the forum before giving advice. I think, for the most part you'll find reasonable replies, and a great amount of good and helpful information, thanks.

Need some advice. I know the ATP rules change 1 Aug and I finished my written, but was unable to get the practical due to maintenance issues. I am now deployed and will not be back until mid-November. I want to start submitting apps late summer as I'll be available late spring next year. My question is will the legacy and other large airlines even consider my application with only the ATP written complete?

Not trying to burst your bubble, but most likely not. I just returned from a deployment and when the recent Southwest window opened, guys without a First Class Medical were getting TBNT letters. If you don't meet the minimum requirements for the job, you will probably see the same result.

Actually you CAN get an interview with just your ATP written. You HAVE to look up the requirements for each airline and the mimium requirements. Airlines that I have looked at REQUIRE a first class medical (kind of a rule) and many ONLY require the written, but some require you to have your cert too. Look it up for the airline you are applying to.

What are the chances of getting on with a Major/LLC/ Legacy without a 4 year degree. I have been a Director of Safety, Safety Officer, Line Check Airman (airplane and sim), and fleet captain for a medium size 135 outfit. 6000+ plus hours, 5000+ PIC, 4000+ turbine PIC. No jet PIC. Right now an F.O at a shrinking regional.

While it depends on the airline (Delta requires a degree), I'd say right now not so good, since the hiring has just started in earnest and the carriers can pick and choose. In a couple of years, though, as things ramp up, I'd imagine you'd have a good chance at several majors or LCCs. Good luck!

I don't know what it takes.

I have:

11000+ TT
2500 JET PIC
A320 Type
INTL experience
4 yr Degree (Riddle)
3 internal LOR's plus one from a CP.
1st class medical.
Clean record.

Haven't heard a peep.
