Well said. Based on my observation of the applicants, Im going to guess 90% are pro-union, and I think most people realize they have a lot to lose over the course of a 30-yr "at will" career. Obviously its speculation.
Food for thought for the new hires: the a321 is coming. Based on FOQA data, JetBlue would have had 4 tail strikes based on the way the current fleet is being flown. That's 8 terminations (4 ca, 4 fo) with a really hard time finding a new job. As far as I know, the rest of the legacies have had multiple tailstrikes in their a321 and 737-800/900 aircraft, and even some 757 models, and none have been terminated, just re-trained in the sim. Its your job. Protect it.

How is the current fleet being flown?
I am being very civil about this, but how do you know all this if you don't work here?

I do my research. 4 tail strikes is an incredibly low percentage, that's actually a praise not a critiscism. jb is the best airbus operator out there.

And if you fly the 321 like the 172, you're going to have even bigger issues, based on my studies of the 172 FOQUA data. Just pulling your chain. Every aircraft has different characteristics, keep them in mind.
I gotta agree though, if I have an incident, I'd feel quite a bit better having ALPA in my corner.

Bottom line, the lawyers that jetblue provides you, you may even get to choose your lawer... Are still paid by jetblue. Your best interest may be kept in mind.
