Maybe that's why they're gonna qual SEA 7ER guys to circle at mins instead of the 1000/3 like the rest of us? I don't have the chart memorized since I haven't been up there since 98 when I flew CG Hercs out of Kodiak. I guess we'll know this summer if there's a 75 sitting on the ramp next to an AK 73.
It won't be less then 1000' and 3 but the question is; why don't we just develop this stuff ourselves. Why do we need Alaska's RNP approaches, they developed them from scratch....there is no good reason we shouldn't be able to do the same.

Developing it isn't the problem. Finding a way to teach the SEA pilots how to fly it via iCrew bulletins is an entirely different task. They may have to make a CD for this one.

If it goes to the -73, which is the announcement, it won't go to SEA guys since we don't have a base there for the 73 (yet).

As I believe Sailing mentioned earlier, we're already flying RNAV RNPs into more difficult fields. A bulletin will suffice...if even that. Make it one of those destinations we have to sign off every two years and be done.

JNU is on the bid sheet for the SEA 75/76 category for May, since AS can use their lower mins which we do not have there will probably be a time when we cannot get in. Should be fun!!

Are AS's lower mins predicated on the use of the HUD?

LDA 8 DA 1260(1235) 2 miles.
circle 26: 2380(2354) 3 miles NA night.
RNAV 8 DA 706(685) RVR 50 or 1.
RNAV 26 DA 336(316) RVR 50 or 1.
AS RNP not predicated on HUD use.

Do DAL 737's have ADF/NDB? Tubby is correct, HUD not needed to get RNP minimums. It's not a question of JNU being harder or easier than any other airport, it's a question of minimums. Can DAL develop their own RNP approaches? Absolutely. Can it be done behind a computer and quick bulletin? Don't think so. AS is the only airline right now to create and certify our own approaches and that took a lot of time and money to achieve. How much freight can a 757 hold in its belly?

Another question: what's the max tailwind for takeoff for a 757? I know it's a great short field airplane, just curious if it's any different.

Flight track app says DL 757-200 arrvs JNU about 2100 and Depts about 0600. What's the minimum layover? Maybe layover for the whole day and leave the next morning.??? Bring rain gear and hiking boots. Maybe fishing gear. "The hanger" on the the waterfront is a popular eating and drinking spot. Don't forget to cancel IFR when landing assured so the next guy can start the approach. I forget what time the tower closes. From a flying standpoint consider it an exotic foreign destination. Single runway limited alternates. Can a 75 land in SIT? Even with good weather you can be bitten. I was about to start the approach at SIT one day and an amphib Cessna forgot to put the wheels down and closed the runway for an hour. Good luck stay safe.

The 757 can operate anywhere you can get a 737 into and then some. It's a great short field a aircraft especially if you want to haul a lot of weight a long distance off a short runway. It also has a softer footprint then the 737 which can be a issue at smaller fields or LGA!
